Cutrine Plus Liquid

Cutrine Plus Liquid is a chelated copper algaecide that stays active and is safer to use than copper sulfate. Use liquid Cutrine for surface or suspended algae. Dosage rates: 0.6 to 1.2 gallons per acre. No water restrictions. Apply by sprayer to surface. For best results use activator with Cutrine. Stocktrine is diluted algaecide for use in garden pools, stock tanks and other small bodies of water where fish are not present.

Greenclean

Granular algaecide that controls even the toughest algae!
GreenClean Granular is an EPA registered, non-copper algaecide that works on contact to control a broad spectrum of algae. GreenClean is completely biodegradable unlike copper based products which leave a heavy metal residue in the soil.

Barley Straw Bales

The use of barley straw has become an increasingly popular way to improve water quality in ponds and water features. This technique, however, is actually a tried and true technique that has been used in Europe and other parts of the world for many years. When properly applied, naturally occurring organisms decompose the lignins in the barley, releasing humic substances (dissolved organic carbon) into the water. In the presence of sunlight and oxygen, those compounds are converted into low levels of hydrogen peroxide. The hydrogen peroxide is the component that modifies the pond chemistry to ensure water quality.

• Each one pound bale treats approximately 100 square feet of pond surface area
• Each bale lasts approximately three to four months. Apply a second bale to pond four weeks after first treatment is done to ensure no interruption in water quality.
• Safe, natural product -- no threat to fish or plants
• Waters treated with barley may turn tea-colored. This is due to the break down of the barley and usually clears up within a week or two.

Pond-Vive is a proprietary blend of specialized bacteria, formulated specifically for the task of lake and pond maintenance. Pond-Vive contains specialized bacterial strains as well as other necessary ingredients need to support these bacterial strains in a lake or pond setting. Our unique blend of bacteria accomplishes a number of very specific tasks. Certain bacterial strains specialize in removing of excess ammonia, nitrates and phosphorus from the water. These excess nutrients, if not removed, can stimulate nuisance aquatic growth. Other strains focus on clarifying the murky water caused from animal and plant wastes, while simultaneously reducing or eliminating the odors stemming from those wastes. Still other strains target the reduction of sludge on the bottom of lakes and ponds. Pond-Vive bacteria should only be used when water temperature is above 55°.

Waterfall Cleaner

This powdered formulation brings powerful and safe, oxygen based cleaning to large ponds or lakes, as well as to smaller koi ponds, water gardens or aquariums. This formulation quickly and effectively cleans rocks, waterfalls, fountains, statues, plant pots, etc. This formulation is nontoxic and safe for use around fish, birds, pets and plants.

Spot Treating: Apply a light layer of powder to problem areas, such as rocks and waterfalls.

Heavy Dose: Apply three to four ounces per 1000 gallons of pond water, every two to four weeks, or as needed.

Medium Dose: Apply two ounces per 1000 gallons of pond water, every two to four weeks, or as needed.

Light Dose: Apply one ounce per 1000 gallons of pond water, every two to four weeks, or as needed.

Herbicides

Hydrothol

This granular is a fast acting, contact herbicide effective on a variety of aquatic weeds including milfoil, coontail, hydrilla, sago pondweed, leafy pondweed, curly leaf pondweed and others. Hydrothol should only be used for spot treating. Use Aquathol, below, early in the season when plants are young and easier to treat. Slight water restrictions.

Aquathol Super K

Aquathol granular herbicide utilizes Culigel® super absorbent polymer technology. Aquathol Super K is six times more concentrated than regular Aquathol. This means less product to handle, less labor to apply and reduced container disposal. Excellent for spot treatment of hydrilla, pondweed and Eurasian milfoil. Dosage rate is variable according to plant species. Available in granular form in 10 pound and 25 pound containers or in 2.5 gallon liquid form.

Komeen

A copper herbicide for use on elodea, hydrilla and other aquatic plants. No restriction on water usage. Dosage rates: 8 - 10 gallons per acre. Komeen must ship motor freight only.

Navigate

A 2, 4-D based herbicide for control of water lilies, coontail, Eurasian milfoil, parrot feather, watershield and bladder wort. Granular form makes it ideal for spot treating. Dosage rate is 100 - 200 pounds per acre. Slight water restrictions. Navigate is also sold under the name Aqua-Kleen. Packaging may occasionally have the Aqua-Kleen label.

Weedtrine-D

Fast acting, broad range weed control Weedtrine-D is a broad range herbicide that controls duckweed, coontail, elodia, naiad, pondweed and milfoil. Weedtrine-D is applied by common sprayers. Results often begin to show in as little as three days. Five day water restriction. Dosage rate: Duckweed five to seven gallons per acre, submersed weeds five to ten gallons per acre. Use with activator for best results. Weedtrine is a restricted use pesticide in Michigan. A copy of your pesticide applicators license must be shown to us to buy Weedtrine in Michigan.

Reward Concentrated

Broad range weed control A concentrated aquatic herbicide that's been proven on a wide variety of aquatic plants including milfoil, cattails, duckweed, pondweed and others. This liquid herbicide is applied by sprayer and should not be applied to turbid waters. There is very little risk of environmental damage since Reward's concentration rapidly decreases as it is absorbed into the aquatic vegetation. Reward is a restricted use pesticide in the state of Michigan. A copy of your pesticide applicators license must be faxed to us before we can sell to anyone in Michigan. All other states are not restricted and can be shipped without certification. Application rate is one to two gallons per acre. Should be used with activator for best results.

Concentrated Pond Dye

One quart is equal to 3/4 of a gallon of other dyes on the market! This is a nontoxic and harmless pond dye for use in all sizes of ponds and lakes. Treated waters can be used for swimming and irrigation once product is evenly dispersed. Compatible for use with most aquatic herbicides and algaecides. One quart treats one acre of water 3' deep (approximately one million gallons).

Aquashade

Registered with the E.P.A. for weed and algae prevention. One gallon treats one acre, 4' deep.

Aquashadow

A powder form of Aquashade. Aquashadow comes in a water soluble bag that can be tossed directly into the pond. Each bag treats 1/4 acre, 4' deep.

Cygnet Select

This pond dye is very similar to Aquashade. Cygnet Select comes in one gallon containers; one gallon treats one acre, 4' deep. Cygnet Select is not E.P.A. registered and therefore is more economical than Aquashade. Customers repeatedly tell us that they do not notice any performance difference between the two products.

Emergent Weed Control

Shore-Klear

Shore-Klear is a nonselective herbicide used around ponds, lakes and streams for control of cattails, brush and weeds that grow out of the water. Shore-Klear is not effective on plants that grow under (or mostly under) the water. Shore-Klear is sprayed onto the foliage of the plant and kills the plant and its roots. Shore-Klear must be used with activator (below). Application rate is two ounces per gallon of water. Some plants, like cattails, may require a second application. Effectiveness may be reduced if rain occurs within 6 hours of treatment. Results will begin to show in two to four days in most plants but can take as long as two weeks. Waters treated with Shore-Klear have no restrictions for swimming, irrigation or human and animal consumption. Product is sold under the Shore-Klear name in quarts and AquaPro in 2.5 gallon size. The product is the same but the names are different according to container size.

Activator

Cide Kick II and Cygnet Plus are liquid additives for use along with liquid herbicides and algaecides to enhance their effectiveness. The surfactant in thes nonionic, water soluble and biodegradable products eliminates beading, providing a uniform spray solution. this ensures maximum contact with the plant's foliage. The low viscosity oil in these products breaks down the waxy coating on leaf surfaces for improved penetration and coverage. Use three ounces per gallon of water.
